Auxiliary Drains (also called Low-Point Drains or Drum Drips) are required for each section of trapped pipe in a Dry or Pre-Action Fire Protection System. They collect the moisture that condensates from the pressurized air in the system while minimizing loss of air pressure during maintenance (see NFPA 13, 8.16.2.5.3.5*, A8.16.2.5.3.5).
Dry and Pre-Action Fire Protection Systems need to be maintained by emptying the auxiliary drains that collect water. Sprinkler system repairs can cost $5,000 to $10,000 or more every time an auxiliary drain fails, is vandalized, or is improperly maintained. AGF Manufacturing's COLLECTanDRAIN® Auxliary Drain upgrades prevent system trips from improper maintenance or vandalism and, with regular maintenance, help prevent system breakdowns as a result of freeze-ups.
Improve your building's appearance and meet NFPA Code
Auxiliary drains become eyesores when they are not maintained properly. Signage falls off, valves break and water stains walls, replacement valves don't match, paint chips, and metal oxidizes. Poorly maintained auxiliary drains make your building look bad and they lower your occupants trust in the building's infrastructure.
Give your occupants a sense of security and your building a consistent, appealing appearance by upgrading to a COLLECTanDRAIN® M5300 Auxiliary Drain. The M5300 is a pre-assembled auxiliary drain designed to meet NFPA 13 and 25 guidelines addressing proper drainage while offering easy identification and a consistent appearance. The COLLECTanDRAIN® M5300ALBV features a M5100ALBV. Water Detector and Alarm that emits a visual and audible warning when the unit needs servicing.
M5300 Recommended Use: On out-of-the-way drain locations that do not frequently collect water.
M5300ALBV Recommended Use: On out-of-the-way drain locations that collect small amounts of water over long durations of time.

Improve your building's appearance, meet NFPA Code, and pro-actively deter improper maintenance and vandalism
Auxiliary drains often become targets for vandals, since most auxiliary drains do not provide standard protection against tampering. The COLLECTanDRAIN® M5100 and M5200 provide a consistent and clean appearance, and they feature our Patented Anti-Trip Plate that only allows one valve to be open at a time so sprinkler systems cannot be tripped by improper maintenance or vandalism.
The COLLECTanDRAIN® M5100 and M5200 both use the M5300 as the base of their design covered by our Patented Anti-Trip Plate. Our Anti-Trip Plates meet NFPA signage requirements and feature a signal red, powdercoat finish for added durability against weathering. The M5100 features a M5100ALBV Water Detector and Alarm that emits a visual and audible warning when the unit needs servicing.
M5100 Recommended Use: On easily accessed drain locations that collect small amounts of water over long durations of time.
M5200 Recommended Use: On easily accessed drain locations that do not frequently collect water.

Water Detector and Alarm
Stop guessing when and what auxiliary drain needs maintenance. By detecting even the slightest amount of water in the collection assembly the COLLECTanDRAIN® M5100ALBV alerts you when maintenance is needed.
The COLLECTanDRAIN® M5100ALBV Water Detector Alarm is available separately and can be used to replace existing auxiliary drain valves; they can also be installed on small volume trapped pipe sections. Includes alarm and ball valve. For remote notification capabilities the M5100ALBV can be wired to the Fire Control Panel or BMS.
5100ALBV Recommended Use: On out-of-the-way drain or small volume trapped pipe locations that collect small amounts of water over long durations of time.

Improve your building's appearance, meet NFPA Code, pro-actively deter vandalism, and with proper maintenance NEVER worry about your auxiliary drains freezing and breaking again!
Every year building owner's spend thousands of dollars from their operating budget fixing auxiliary drains that collect water, freeze, and break. NOT ANYMORE! The COLLECTanDRAIN® M5400 features a heated cabinet so freeze-ups are a thing of the past. With normal auxiliary drain maintenance you will never inconvenience your tenants with unwanted drain repair or replace a broken auxiliary drain again.
The COLLECTanDRAIN® M5400 goes beyond the prevention features of the M5100 and M5200 by providing a temperature controlled environment to deter system failures due to freezing condensation. The heated and insulated cabinet contains an auxiliary drain with a float switch to monitor condensation levels. When condensation reaches a level where maintenance is needed the float switch activates an audible alarm and an LED warning light. The M5400 also features Fire Control Panel and BMS notification capabilities.
M5400 Recommended Use: On the most problematic drain locations that frequently collect water in short durations of time and are susceptible to colder climates.

Self-Maintaining Auxiliary Drains with Freeze Protection
The AGF COLLECTanDRAIN® Model 5450 is a self-maintaining auxiliary drain with freeze protection that features a overflow with Y-Strainer and Drain Trap that automatically sheds collected condensation.
The COLLECTanDRAIN® Model 5450 Series of auxiliary drains feature a traditionally configured condensation collection assembly contained inside an insulated and heated cabinet. By incorporating a unique, self-maintaining design the Model 5450 offers more than just freeze protection. This feature prevents the auxliliary drain from filling beyond the safety level of the heated cabinet and automatically sheds condensation from the collection assembly when the level reaches approximately 80%. Any additional accumulation will flow into a drain trap that allows the excess to automatically drain from the system while maintaining the integrity of the dry valve. The easily mounted, lockable, steel cabinet is finished in a highly-visible, red, powder coat that includes appropriate identification signage and can be wired to the fire panel for remote notification. The Model 5450 is designed for installation in climates where freezing or below freezing temperatures are present and result in the failure of typical collectors. The Model 5450 maintains a comfortable temperature above freezing while minimizing power consumption.
M5450 Recommended Use: On the most problematic drain locations that frequently collect water in short durations of time and are susceptible to colder climates.

Automated Auxiliary Drains with Freeze Protection
The AGF COLLECTanDRAIN® Model 5500 is a fully automated auxiliary drain that features motorized supply and drain valves that operate according to draining provisions required by NFPA 25. The Model 5500 can be operated on-demand by the push of a button (locally or remotely) or by its hands-free, fully automatic mode which will operate the drain automatically when the float switch senses a full drain.
The COLLECTanDRAIN® Model 5500 Series of auxiliary drains feature a traditionally configured condensation collection assembly contained inside an insulated and heated cabinet. By incorporating motorized ball valves at the inlet and outlet of the collection assembly, and with the addition of a programmable logic control (PLC), the Model 5500's operational sequence is fully automated to accomplish draining in accordance with NFPA 25 standards. This process can be initiated three different ways: locally by pushing the drain button, remotely using a fire panel or building management system, or automatically when the float switch senses that the drain is full and signals the PLC to initiate the draining sequence. The easily mounted, lockable, steel cabinet is finished in a highly visible, red, powder coat that includes appropriate identification signage. The Model 5500 is designed for installation in climates where freezing or below freezing temperatures are present and result in the failure of typical collectors. The Model 5500 maintains a comfortable temperature above freezing while minimizing power consumption.
